“Belgian graphic design studio beshart has rallied 100 artists from 28 countries to redesign the book covers of the greatest novels of all time (according to The Observer‘s 2003 list of the 100 Greatest Novels of All Time) in order to raise awareness for the problem of illiteracy. The project, DoeDeMee, which we were tipped off to by Largehearted Boy, has collected a slew of amazing new covers, which you can buy as posters here.” (via Flavorwire)
“Artists in the UK have created a ‘Rain Room’ inside the Barbican that gives the impression from the outside that it is pouring rain. 3D cameras make it so the rain stops when you walk through it. That is, the rain is everywhere you aren’t, and you don’t get wet at all.” (via Kottke)
“We can all thank Sara Jessica Parker for her idea of a collaboration with Valentino to design the costumes for the New York City Ballet‘s Fall Gala. 16 original designs were handcrafted with breathtaking couture details and pops of the designer’s signature red underneath voluminous tulle and organza tutus. Black and white was the main color palette and of course, each of the ballerinas were outfitted in ruby red pointe shoes … Valentino style.” (via Honestly…WTF)
